Defense: Ole Miss (Walter Nolen & Princely Umanmielen)
Lane Kiffin He loves recruiting the transfer portal, and he excelled in his class this year, finishing third in the transfer portal team rankings. The defensive roster Ole Miss signed is the best in the 2024 transfer portal cycle.
Five-star Walter Nolen signed with Texas A&M in the class of 2022, when he was the No. 2 overall prospect in Rivals250. He is a five-star prospect who ranks second overall in this year’s Transfer Portal rankings. Now that he has transferred to the University of Mississippi, Kiffin and his staff hope the big defensive tackle can be a disruptive force inside the defensive line and make teammates around him more efficient.
Mississippi State also added Florida defensive line transfer Prince Umanmiren, who is ranked No. 21 on the transfer list. The versatile four-star recruit had seven sacks last season at Florida State, and the Rebels hope he can make similar contributions this season.

Guards: Wisconsin (Tackett Curtis, Jaheim Thomas, John Pius)
No other team has added as many four-star linebackers in the portal as Wisconsin this year. Tackett Curtis, Jaheim Thomas and John Pius were among the best linebackers of the offseason, and the Badgers have excelled with those three different players.
Curtis, the No. 6 transfer linebacker and No. 66 transfer prospect, left USC after last season to follow the former Trojans defensive coordinator Alex Grinch to Madison.
Thomas’ arrival in Wisconsin was also a reunion of sorts. He originally signed with Luke Fickell He was the head coach at Cincinnati as part of the 2020 recruiting class and transferred to Arkansas after Fickell left to take the head coaching job at Wisconsin. Now the two are reunited in Madison.
When Wisconsin learned Pius was entering the transfer portal, they quickly targeted him. The FCS All-American at the College of William & Mary announced that he will transfer to Wisconsin in early December 2023 after an official visit to the Madison campus.

Defensive backs: Oregon State (Jabbar Muhammad, Kamerin Alexander, Kobe Savage, Peyton Woodyard)
This was a very close game between Oregon State and Alabama, but the Ducks got the nod as they signed four top-100 defensive backs out of the portal.
Former Washington standout Jabbar Muhammad leads Oregon’s 2024 defensive back transfer class. Ranked No. 18 in the transfer rankings and No. 2 in defensive backs, Muhammad has already made his presence felt in Eugene.
The same goes for Kameryn Alexander, No. 61 overall, and Kobe Savage, No. 63 overall. Alexander was a standout at UTSA last season, while Savage comes to Oregon after playing for Kansas State last year.
Oregon State came close to signing Peyton Woodyard as a high school senior, but the No. 89 overall transfer transferred out of Alabama after retiring. gap Saban The Ducks are clearly a good fit for him.
