Baylor will continue their hot summer Thursday as they now have acquired another blue-chip prospect.
That’s Argyle (Texas) Liberty Christian School’s class of 2026 four-star quarterback Quinn Murphy.
Murphy chose the Bears over Oklahoma State, Michigan State and Arkansas, among others.
The 6-foot-3, 188-pound signal-caller discussed his decision now.
Not only is Baylor close to Murphy’s home, but the relationships and trust factor built in Waco are also very strong. Baylor’s staff prioritized Murphy, who he believed had shown enough ability to earn his hiring.
“first day (Jack) Svital Got the job, and he offered me the job, I think just three hours after he got the job, it showed how much I meant to them. You know, with all the recruiting buzz around Baylor, he was in my class and there were a lot of top quarterbacks in the state and out of the state trying to get to Baylor. He specifically told them, “No, we are waiting for someone else.” I’ve been No. 1 in the world for a long time and I know that’s my home, so why not commit now?
Baylor also said all the right things about the system he’s joining.
“So I’ve been to Baylor three times in the last two months and I’ve been there many times before. They told me they were going to run a massive offense and it was a heavy pick that put a lot of pressure on us. .I am ready.
Murphy didn’t make this decision on his own, either. He’s been talking to a number of other recruits, some committed to Baylor and some not. He became increasingly satisfied with the team and was ready to recruit more.
“I talked to Taz (Williams) his junior year. I talked to Brayden Robinson and London Smith. They’re both 2026 receivers and both are high on the board. I talked to the 2026 running backs. Davis Payne and Rylan have talked about it, you know, when I commit, I will.
