The latest Associated Press poll focuses on Democrats wanting President Biden to drop out of the race, but the findings hide the finding that a majority of Americans want Trump to drop out.
The AP decided to frame their polling story based on how many Democrats want President Biden to drop out, but there are some nuggets hidden in the story:
It’s not just Biden that people are unhappy with as they evaluate their choices this election season.
About 6 in 10 Americans want Trump out — but relatively few Republicans fall into that camp.
As for Biden, younger Democrats in particular are likely to want to see him drop out and say they are dissatisfied with him. Three-quarters of Democrats under 45 want Biden to drop out, compared with about 6-in-10 older Democrats.
This is a chart that the AP has chosen not to highlight, which is very important:
The same survey showed that 57% of Americans want Trump to withdraw. Why not share it too? pic.twitter.com/8b5qAIDmX4

Most independents want Donald Trump out. The majority of the country wants Trump out. The country does not want Trump to be president again.
If Democrats can stop worrying about Biden’s self-created anxieties and get back to trying to defeat Trump, the election will be in a better position for them. Most Americans want to reject Trump. Democrats should not let their whining and moaning cost themselves an election they could win.
If Democrats lose, it’s not Biden’s fault. The blame will be placed on those within the party who chose to create a crisis rather than win an election.
