KTLA Morning News weatherman Mark Kriski is recovering after suffering a stroke last week, according to messages posted on social media by his wife and colleagues.
Kriski’s wife, Jennifer Gould, is “pleased to report” on X that he will be transferred from neurology to physical therapy on Friday.
On Saturday, Gould said: “You know your husband @MarkKriski feels better when he starts sending you pictures of the food he wants!”
On Sunday, Gould posted that she and Kriski were grateful for the outpouring of support as he continues to recover.
Gould told TMZ that the veteran weatherman suffered a stroke early on May 27 at his home in Los Angeles. The posts did not reveal which hospital Kriski was recovering at.
During a show Monday morning, the KTLA morning anchor read aloud text messages from co-workers expressing hope that he would return to work.
In a post on X, the network said Kriski is “recovering quickly,” adding that “his sense of humor remains intact.”
On May 10, just weeks before Kriski’s stroke, his colleague Sam Rubin died of cardiac arrest at his West Valley home. He was 64.
Kriski and Rubin both joined KTLA’s “Morning News” in 1991 and have served as on-air colleagues there for more than 30 years.
A day after Rubin’s death, Krisky wrote on the X: “There will never be another Sam Rubin. Love you and will miss you my friend.
