The troubles at the liberal Washington Post are nothing new. The newspaper lost millions of dollars last year and even considered replacing reporters with artificial intelligence robots.
Now things get worse. Executive editor Sally Buzbee is resigning, and the paper’s chief executive recently held a meeting with staff to inform them that people weren’t reading the content they were producing.
It’s an election year and there’s no shortage of news, but The Washington Post is in trouble. What does this tell you?

WaPo boss sounds alarm over audience dwindling in heated staff meeting: ‘People aren’t reading your stuff’
According to the Post’s own reporting, Post publisher and CEO William Lewis spoke out to employees in a tense meeting following the abrupt firing of executive editor Sally Buzbee.
“We’re going to turn it around, but let’s not sugarcoat it. It needs to be turned around,” Lewis told the newspaper. “We’re losing a lot of money. Your audience has been cut in half in recent years. People aren’t reading your stuff. Right. I can’t sugarcoat it anymore.
On Sunday night, Lewis told his staff that Buzbee, who joined The Washington Post in 2021, would part ways with the paper “effective immediately.” He announced that her interim replacement will be former Wall Street Journal editor-in-chief Matt Murray, who is expected to take the position during the 2024 election cycle, and that the paper is reorganizing into “three news editors.” Chamber,” hoping to turn around the troubled Democracy Dies in the Dark publication.
The Washington Post reported Monday that Buzbee was uncomfortable with the offer to run another division of the paper. She also reportedly urged Lewis to delay implementing such changes until after the election, but Lewis refused.
During the meeting, some staff members reportedly tried to make the issue solely about race and gender.
This scene is too perfect. The same woke toddlers who knocked the Washington Post into a hillside are lecturing the people hired to pick up the wreckage about diversity and gender. It was this obsession that caused the paper to lose readers. Perfect. https://t.co/Rgq5qqRZYm

This Washington Post article is shocking
In recent years they have lost half their audience and a lot of dollars.
What issues are journalists most concerned about? Number of white people in top positions.
These people are out of touch with reality.

These staff members seemed unaware that their objections were part of the problem.
