We all know that the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro are very powerful and useful phones, but they’re also a bit pricey. If you’re looking for a modern and affordable phone, the third-generation iPhone SE is an excellent choice. It normally costs $429, making it one of the more affordable phones you can buy. But you can find some even better deals if you know where to look.
One of the biggest new features of the latest iPhone SE is that it supports 5G, so you’ll be able to get faster data speeds when you’re on the go. Apple also upgraded the processor to an A15 Bionic chip while maintaining the compact size of the previous model. The 12-megapixel camera on the back is more powerful thanks to the A15 processor, and there’s a familiar Touch ID sensor on the front.

iPhone SE Best Deals
The iPhone SE isn’t being updated in 2023 along with the iPhone 15 series, so it doesn’t get as much attention in terms of promotions. However, there are still plenty of ways to save, and we’ve rounded up the best deals below.
If you prefer to buy a new iPhone directly from the source, iPhone SE is the way to go. Apple has all carrier models as well as unlocked models. If you want to get rid of your old phone and switch to the new SE, Apple is offering discounts of up to $630 on eligible trade-ins. The base price of $429 theoretically means you can get the new SE completely free, but keep in mind that the trade-in value of an older phone is much lower than the $630 figure. If your trade-in value exceeds the price of your new phone, you’ll receive an Apple gift card to pay for the remainder. If your trade-in doesn’t cover the full cost, you can pay the remaining balance in full or break it into 24 interest-free months (and get 3% cash back) when you use your Apple Card at checkout.
You can also get the carrier model number through Apple. T-Mobile is offering the phone for free to eligible trade-in customers, while AT&T is offering up to a $358 bill credit.
Best Buy isn’t offering any outright discounts on the iPhone SE, but you can get up to $120 in trade-in credit on your old phone. You can also get some additional perks, like three free months of Apple TV Plus, Apple Music, and Apple Fitness with your purchase, and four free months of Apple Arcade.
While Verizon’s current deals to upgrade existing lines are fairly sparse, there are great deals available if you want to add new lines of service. When you buy the new range of iPhone SE and choose any unlimited plan, you can save $430 and get the 64GB model for free. Note that even if you buy the phone outright, the discount will be applied in the form of monthly points for 36 months.
Verizon’s other promotions include up to $460 off an iPhone SE, up to $460 off an iPad, and up to $120 off an Apple Watch, though you’ll need to add a bunch of cellular service to those devices.
AT&T has different discounts for different sizes, starting with the 64GB version at $2 per month for 36 months, with up to $359 in bill credits upon activation. The 128GB model is priced at $6 per month, saving you up to $264 in credits, while the 256GB model is priced at $11 per month, saving you up to $184 in credits. These offers require a new or upgraded product line on a qualifying Unlimited plan.
T-Mobile is offering the offer now to new and existing customers. Users who own or switch to a Go5G Next or Go5G Plus plan can save up to $830 by trading in, but you’ll likely be buying a slightly older phone, so you’re more likely to save $400 to $830. Still, you can get the phone for free or close to free.
Customers on the Go5G, Magenta or One rate plans can still save up to $300 with trade-in, while all other plans can save up to $200 with eligible trade-in.
You can also save 50% off by adding new product lines, no need to trade in.
Spectrum is another carrier that has the 2022 iPhone SE available for purchase, although the deals there are very slim. The only offer available is an additional $100 to the estimated value of the equipment with qualified trade-in and new service lines.
When you buy an iPhone SE at full price and switch your existing number to Metro’s $40-a-month unlimited data plan, you’ll get an immediate $150 rebate. This means you’ll be buying the iPhone SE for a total price of $330. Transfer your number and save even more: You can get a free phone and save $430.
notes: Since Metro is owned by T-Mobile, users switching numbers from an existing T-Mobile plan are not eligible for this offer.
While there’s no discount on the iPhone SE’s base price, you get six months of free wireless service when you sign up for a year of service. Currently, only the 64GB model is available.
