Dornoch won the third leg of the Triple Crown race on Saturday at Saratoga Race Course in Saratoga Springs, New York. 1.
Prior to the race, Sierra, who finished second in this year’s Kentucky Derby, was considered the winner, followed by Seize the Gray and Mindframe, according to Fan Duel sportsbook odds.

The final leg of this year’s Triple Crown looks a little different.
The Belmont Championship, for example, moved to Saratoga Raceway, a little over three hours north of its traditional venue at Belmont Park in El Monte, New York. The project is expected to be completed in 2020.
In addition, wallets are bigger, rising to $2 million from $1.5 million last year. After prize money is divided among the top players, the first-place winner will receive approximately $1.2 million.
The race is also shortened by a quarter mile. Typically, the longest event in the Triple Crown is 1 1/2 miles, but due to the shape of the track, this year’s Belmont Stakes is the same distance as the Kentucky Derby, which is 1 1/4 miles.
