Father of 6-year-old New Jersey girl dies from head trauma a bizarre accident On the last day of the family vacation, something involving a badminton racket reminded him of his daughter’s “bubbly” personality and the afternoon their family was changed forever.
Jesse Morgan, whose 6-year-old daughter Lucy died unexpectedly after playing with her siblings, shared memories of his daughter to Fox News Digital.
“She had a very bubbly personality and sometimes a very reserved personality,” he said. “Once you get to know her, she’s very, very outspoken and very funny. She’s a strong kid who plays soccer very hard.”

Jesse recalled seeing photos of Lucy with his daughter and wife Bethany.
“My wife just commented how hauntingly beautiful she is. Some of these pictures are just, she is so beautiful and her personality is so incredible,” he said.
Jesse recalled that Lucy was the “main cuddler” in their family of six.
“I just remember she took out her bedside [hair] I just want to sit with you for a long time. Not restless, just wanting to lay with you and cuddle.
Jesse, pastor of Green Pond Bible Church in Rockaway, New Jersey, told Fox News Digital that the family’s vacation was part of his sabbatical.

“Our first week [of sabbatical] According to her, it was the best week of her life,” he said. “We did a lot of fun things.
Photos shared by the family show Lucy and her three siblings, Silas, Shiloh and Atticus, fishing and kayaking in Limerick, Maine, before the tragedy.
“According to her, it was the best week of her life.”
On May 30, after the family enjoyed a leisurely lunch, the idyllic holiday came to an abrupt halt.
Jesse said he and his wife were taking a break from reading in the backyard and their children were playing badminton when their son came to them “very worried.”
“We went out and saw what was going on, from being so quiet and so peaceful to an incredibly traumatic experience, it was indescribable horror,” Jesse said.
Lucy was hit unexpectedly when the racquet shaft her 10-year-old brother was using broke and flew into her skull.
Jesse explained in a series of blog posts on his blog: “Due to a freak accident, the racket broke on the downswing and a sharp piece of debris entered while Lucy was sitting courtside. Her skull suffered catastrophic damage. New creation life. “She was still breathing but not responding as I held her and Bethany and cried out to God.”

Lucy was taken to a local hospital after being taken to Located in Portland, Maine.
Lucy died of her injuries four days after the accident.
“After numerous and thorough tests and many more repeated tests, she was pronounced brain dead at 1:32 a.m. on June 5, and her heart stopped beating around 4 a.m.,” Jesse wrote.
“Lucy is with Jesus.”
The parents still want Lucy to “believe in the death and resurrection of Jesus.”

“Four weeks ago, she asked Bethany how to be with God and be saved,” Jesse wrote. “Bethany explained the incident to her and offered to pray with her, but ‘Miss Independent’ wanted to do it herself. She went back to her room and asked God to forgive her and to believe in the death and resurrection of Jesus.”
“What a gift,” he said.
Jesse wrote that he and his wife found comfort after finding her prayer journal, saying it felt “as if God was writing with her.”
