Apple made its long-awaited artificial intelligence announcement at WWDC on Monday, introducing Apple Intelligence. The tech giant’s efforts to generate artificial intelligence are very privacy-focused, running on “private cloud computing” so that user data is not stored or exposed to Apple.
Apple Intelligence does not have an official release date, but it will be available in beta for some devices this fall with the iOS 18 and macOS Sequoia updates.
Devices that support Apple Intelligence include:
Mix and match speed of light
You’ll be able to create AI images and emojis using Apple Intelligence.

The new artificial intelligence capabilities will enhance Siri and Apple’s existing cross-product tools. Apple Intelligence will be able to understand the “personal context” of a single user – for example, you can ask Siri if you have lunch plans, and it will grab your message and understand the language used to determine whether you have lunch plans with someone. This applies to language, images and actions. You can also receive contextual notifications, which can summarize messages you missed when a group chat broke out.
In addition to understanding your background, Apple Intelligence will include writing tools and enhancements, image generation using “Genmoji”, Siri artificial intelligence feature updates, and ChatGPT integration.
