Stephen Colbert used Trump’s Las Vegas rally to explain to the former president’s supporters that they are a cult.

“The Vegas rally was so hot that six people were taken to the hospital and two dozen others received medical attention,” Colbert said. Here’s the thing: If you’re willing to stand out in the desert and listen to some crazy rambles, Until your skull pops like a plate of uptempo pop music, then you’re in a cult! Anyway, get out of there and take that stupid hat off!

These people are not normal political supporters of candidates. Rank-and-file supporters of a candidate don’t cheer when the candidate admits he doesn’t care about them. He is only interested in their votes. At noon, Trump supporters gathered in a shadeless outdoor venue in temperatures over a hundred degrees to listen to their candidate ramble incoherently about things no one knew what he was talking about.
As Rachel Maddow puts it, the best part of Trump’s on-board rant was watching his audience follow along and try to figure out what he was saying:
The crowd couldn’t understand what Trump was saying. Trump supporters are out there jeopardizing their health and welfare and having their brains boiled by someone who doesn’t care about them. It certainly looks like a cult, acts like a cult, and is the kind of tyranny of the few that the founders feared.
