Of course Hunter Biden is guilty. It took a Delaware jury just three hours to figure that out.
Frankly, his defense is pretty ridiculous. Biden is a drug addict — he helped write and record a book about drug use — and then his attorneys argued that he didn’t do drugs the day, week, or Tuesday after he bought the handgun — so he didn’t mean it Lying federal form.
Result: Guilty on all three felonies.
Hunter Biden’s former business aide dismisses gun trial accusations: ‘Distraction’ comes from ‘influence peddling’
The only real mystery is why Hunter did not plead guilty, lest his father suffer the personal and political embarrassment of airing all this sordid scandal in open court. Federal prosecutors are apparently pushing for a settlement. The testimony from Hunter’s ex, the harrowing text messages, it all could have been avoided.
Either way, he’s going to jail.
Yet despite criticism from Republicans that the law enforcement system has been weaponized against their side, the Biden Justice Department just convicted the president’s son. Not many countries in the world can imagine this happening.
In fact, the Justice Department is now prosecuting two other prominent Democrats: Sen. Bob Menendez in his gold bullion bribery case, and Rep. Henry Cuellar.
It must have been a heavy psychological blow for Joe Biden, who traveled to Wilmington last night to be with his son, essentially repeating a statement he made last week.
“I will accept the outcome of this case and continue to respect the judicial process as Hunter considers an appeal,” the president said, saying he had ruled out a pardon. He said he and his wife are “very proud of who he is today.”
Biden’s mental acuity questioned
Despite hours of cable news banners, Joe Biden did not mention it when speaking at a gun safety forum, creating an awkward situation. But he won’t give his critics the exact words they want.
You would think that given that Donald Trump is also a convicted felon—and I’m not comparing the two cases—that he and his allies would let the media trumpet Hunter Biden’s conviction. but not.
The Trump campaign’s press secretary said, “This trial is nothing more than a distraction from the true crimes of the Biden crime family, which defrauded China, Russia and Ukraine of tens of millions of dollars. Joe Biden vs. Biden Biden’s “criminal reign is dishonest” will end on November 5, and Biden will never again sell out government power for personal gain. “
So we’ve gone from Hunter Biden having to be convicted immediately to this being just a distraction. The felony gun case had nothing to do with his father, who had been urging him to stay sober. A second, more serious criminal trial is for tax evasion and could limit the parents’ role.

But the “Biden crime family” rhetoric is directed at the then-Vice President’s son, who used his last name to grab global business for which he was clearly unqualified. So there’s an intentional shifting of the goalposts here.
Remember, House Republicans, after months of investigation, failed to produce evidence that Joe Biden was paid a dime, despite apparently using innocuous phone calls and a few lunches to help his son drum up business. Additionally, the committee’s key sources have been accused of lying.
Special prosecutor David Weiss told reporters yesterday that the gun case showed “no one is above the law.” But he also said that the government would not propose harsher sentences than ordinary people.
One could argue that the case should have been filed five years ago. But others believe there will be no charges against Hunter Jones at all.
These rare cases usually have to be tied to a larger crime, such as the president’s son using an illegally obtained gun to rob a bank. (Trump made the argument that he faced a grooming misdemeanor because he was a leading candidate for president.)
But Hunter owned the pistol for 11 days before his lover threw it in the trash.

A judge is supposed to sentence Hunter Biden during the Democratic National Convention in August. Then comes the second trial. The timing was terrible for a notorious son who could have avoided this by pleading guilty.
