A woman who didn’t know she was pregnant gave birth to a baby in the bathroom of a Taco Bell restaurant in Richmond, Virginia.
Breonni Jackson, a home nurse, went to the local Taco Bell to pick up food for her patients. However, she realized something was wrong when she felt stomach cramps.
“The pain hit me again,” she told Channel 6 News. “I went back to the bathroom and this time when I sat down, no one stood up. “I looked down and realized I was still bleeding. “
Then she called her husband, Jamarz Jackson, who works at VCU Medical Center.
She was crying and breathing heavily, so immediately I was like, baby, what’s wrong? he explained. “She said, how fast can you find me? So I was like, Oh my God.”
“I ran past Panera Bakery and I heard her heart-wrenching scream,” he continued. “I was still panicking and I was like, baby, say something, and then she was like oh my gosh, oh my gosh,” Jackson said. “I was like what the hell happened? She was like I just had a baby. I was like, what did you do?
Even more unusual, none of them knew she was pregnant.
“I was like, well, no, there’s no way,” Bronny Jackson said. “I picked her up and wrapped her in my shirt and she hadn’t made a cry or anything yet.”
“I realized the umbilical cord was still wrapped around her throat,” she continued. “I untied the umbilical cord, and when I untied the last umbilical cord, she took a deep breath and he heard her scream for the first time.”
Meanwhile, Taco Bell employees had no idea what was going on.
“They didn’t realize what had happened until the ambulance arrived and asked for their keys to open the door,” she explained. “I’m still in shock. But to be honest, it came at the right time.
The couple lost their nine-month-old son in a car crash last June following a collision with a campervan.
“This is a nightmare, and it can’t be real,” she said. “Knowing that I lost my son, I do something every day and it’s the worst thing ever.”
“She’s definitely a dream come true,” she added. “Losing one and actually gaining another is definitely the best gift we could ask for.”
The couple has since named their child Ayanna.
Broni may have experienced what’s known as a mysterious pregnancy. According to the Cleveland Clinic, it’s just that the pregnant woman doesn’t know she’s pregnant.
“Most people realize they are pregnant between four and 12 weeks into their pregnancy,” the clinic explains. “This could be because they are experiencing pregnancy symptoms or because they have missed their period.”
“A positive result on a pregnancy test confirms pregnancy. With a mystery pregnancy, there is nothing to make a person believe they are pregnant. This may be because they have no pregnancy symptoms, mistook pregnancy symptoms for a virus, or their pregnancy test results are wrong of.
