Property management software provider HappyCo has launched a series of APIs that will allow customers to further customize their installations, according to a June 12 press release.
The technology stack can be customized and expanded as needed, and through each API, data remains unedited and flows in two ways to enhance its value to operations. According to the press release, some of the systems posted on the HappyCo plug-in website include Wreno, Amenify, HelloData, Interplay Learning, Level, Moved, Propexo, ResMan, SureApp and Source7.
“A common complaint from owners and operators across the country is that there are too many systems that make it difficult for their teams to connect and communicate with each other. On the other hand, technology vendors charge exorbitant fees to integrate with these systems,” said HappyCo founder and CEO Jindou Lee said in a statement. “We are excited to launch an open ecosystem for partner vendors to integrate and collaborate for free, providing owners and operators with a ‘single pane of glass’ interface to drive operational efficiencies across the entire organization.”
Companies like HappyCo use partner APIs to provide functionality that benefits users but is not part of their core competencies, or is cost-prohibitive to build and manage themselves. A range of niche, lightweight partners further supports the company’s customer retention efforts, meaning it may be harder for customers to leave multiple software tools connected through their parent account. More precisely, if so many additional benefits are offered, why would customers switch?
For example, Pineapple is a self-guided tour solution for the rental market, and its API helps property managers adapt to the rapidly growing expectations in the rental community. Amenify is a partner that provides tenants with concierge-level services such as grocery delivery, car washes and cleaning, and other daily needs. Moved positions itself as “a modern way to welcome residents.” The software provides a friendly, hassle-free tenant onboarding and move-in experience.
HappyCo delivered an AI-powered apartment community maintenance system called “Centralized Maintenance” in April.
The product will help manage daily tasks and maintenance requirements, specifically allocating work orders based on site-specific tasks and deploying technicians based on specialty and location within the property portfolio. It also handles triaging and reporting of work orders, communicating with residents, modifying requests, and helping technicians acquire skills and certifications.
HappyCo chief product officer Ben Nowacky said in a press release that as more suitable rental technology products emerge, more products will benefit the company’s users.
“But what’s really exciting is the flexibility and future-proofing capabilities provided by an open API architecture; this is a truly open ecosystem that will drive collaboration, innovation and resident satisfaction in multifamily operations and industry moving forward.
