The United States of America is a constitutional republic, but don’t say that to anyone at CNN or they might label you a conspiracy theorist.
The far left recently did an entire segment about Trump supporters and others on the right insisting (rightly) that we are not a democracy.
The left has repeated their platitudes about “our democracy” so many times that CNN is now trying to rewrite history to suit the Democrats.
Newsbusters reports:
CNN vilified for view that ‘America is a republic, not a democracy’
With President Biden arguing that former President Donald Trump is a threat to democracy, CNN’s Doni O’Sullivan thought it would be a good idea to try to help make the case. During an appearance on CNN News on Friday, O’Sullivan was seen on the road with Trump voters and was appalled by their idea of the United States as a republic rather than a democracy.
In one video, O’Sullivan, speaking to a couple, declared, “Obviously, there are a lot of people who criticize Trump and think he’s bad for democracy. He’s bad for American democracy.
A woman interrupted, saying, “Can I say something? We are a republic. We are not a democracy,” while a man echoed her sentiments, “We are a republic. We are a representative republic.” We are not a democracy.
CNN inserted clips of Republican leaders talking about democracy as if it changed history and proved their point:
The footage of Regan and Bush was juxtaposed with Speaker Mike Johnson and Fox News hosts Will Caine and Pete Hegseth claiming the United States is a republic, not a democracy.
The whole premise is stupid. Reagan and Bush used democracy as an antonym for dictatorship, while others used democracy in a more literal sense, where the rights of the people are not affected by the mood of the prevailing masses or legislative bodies.

CNN is outraged by some who say the United States is a republic, not a democracy. Donny O’Sullivan: “I’ve heard a lot of conspiracy theories… I’ve heard… people calling themselves patriots – saying America is not a democracy – and that stopped me in my tracks” pic.twitter.com/EgbuJN83ZM

So, to recap…according to CNN, if you have a correct understanding of American history and our official form of government, you are a conspiracy theorist.
Our media is so broken and corrupt.
