Former President Donald Trump said President Joe Biden is “providing material support for terrorism” during a speech in Florida on Friday night.
Last week, eight Tajik nationals were arrested in the United States and found to have ties to the Islamic State. They all entered through the southern border that Biden opened.
“So, in addition to all of his other well-documented crimes, Crooked Joe Biden is now guilty of providing material support for terrorism,” Trump asserted in his 78th birthday speech.
Trump emphasized: “Under Biden’s leadership, the number of people on the terrorist watch list entering our country from the southern border has increased by 3,000%, 3,000%.” ”This comes from the Border Patrol. Eight men from Tajikistan with possible ties to ISIS in Central Asia were arrested in New York, Philadelphia and Los Angeles over the weekend, three people familiar with the matter told NBC News on Tuesday.
The suspects were on the radar of the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force and were arrested by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, better known as ICE, sources said.
Two officials briefed on the matter said all eight men crossed the southern border into the United States and their criminal background checks showed that their crossings went smoothly.
The officials said at least two of the men crossed the border in the spring of 2023, including one who used the CBP One app, which was created by the Biden administration to allow migrants to make appointments to apply for asylum.
“Over the past several days, ICE agents have arrested several non-citizens under immigration authorities,” the Department of Homeland Security and the FBI said in a joint statement Tuesday. “These operations were conducted in conjunction with the FBI’s joint terrorism special effort. The arrested individuals have been detained by ICE pending deportation proceedings.
