Diners across America are writing a powerful message on their waiter checks: “Vote Trump, tips are not taxed!”
The grassroots trend began when President Donald Trump pledged at a fiery rally in Las Vegas last week to eliminate the tip tax on restaurant and hotel workers once he returns to the Oval Office.
“I’m saying this for the first time,” Trump declared, “for those who work in hotels and those who get tips, you’re going to be very happy. When I get back in office, we will eliminate the tip tax. We will do it immediately. Do it, this is the first thing you do after taking office.
“So people who work in restaurants, no matter what the job is, tipped jobs, we’re not going to go after them anymore. That’s going to end,” he added.
Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) took to social media on Friday to support the president’s proposal. “This week Trump suggested we not tax tips. He’s right. Next week I will reintroduce Ron Paul’s original Tipping Tax Act to eliminate the tip tax! ”

After the news was announced, diners launched a grassroots movement to express their support by writing “Vote Trump, tips are not taxed!” on their checks. The trend quickly spread and spread across the country.
Some servers report multiple diners jumping on the trend in a single day. Even more surprising, some servers directly affected by these taxes said they would vote for Trump because of the proposal.

I’ve seen this trend, and I think we should all do this in swing states.
My waiter got a $100 tip tonight so he could be aware of Trump’s proposal to not tax tips!
