Nokia (NYSE:NOK) is expanding with Alphabet’s (NASDAQ: Google) (NASDAQ: Google) Google Cloud helps developers around the world build 5G applications faster using telecom application programming interfaces (APIs).
Nokia says its web-as-code platform will now run on Google Cloud and Google’s Vertex AI and AI model Gemini 1.5 Pro will be used to enhance the developer experience through generative AI capabilities.
The Finland-based company added that this will help developers use artificial intelligence in their applications and increase productivity through coding-assisted agents.
The two companies will promote industry use cases and the Google Cloud developer community, starting with the healthcare industry, to help telemedicine companies provide a better customer experience.
“Through this important collaboration with Nokia, we are enabling our global developer community to take advantage of the new opportunities provided by 5G networks,” said Ankur Jain, vice president of distributed cloud and global telecommunications at Google Cloud.
Nokia’s Web as Code platform – based on a revenue-sharing model between developers, operators and Nokia – provides developers with software development kits, Web API documents and code “snippets” that can be included In building a new application.
