Donald Trump celebrated his “great meeting” with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis over the weekend and suggested his former Republican rival is now campaigning for his 2024 presidential bid Provide support for activities.
Is this finally a “kumbaya” moment for the Republican duo?
The Washington Post first reported the meeting, which was brokered by a mutual friend. They described the meeting as “friendly”.
Presumptive Republican candidate Trump posted on his “Truth” social media platform that some kind of cooperation may be brewing.
“I am pleased to have the full and enthusiastic support of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis,” he wrote. “We had a great meeting yesterday…”
“The conversation was mostly about how we can work closely together to make America great again,” Trump added. “The future of Florida was also discussed, which is great!”

Ron DeSantis endorses Trump
Governor Ron DeSantis meeting with and endorsing former President Trump is a major development. Trump knows he needs the Florida governor’s supporters to vote for him in November.
This is a necessary alliance for conservatives.
“I’m so grateful to Ron for supporting taking back our country from the worst president in American history,” Trump wrote on his platform. “November 5th is a big day!”
Working closely with Make America Great Again likely means Ron DeSantis is willing to serve as a Trump surrogate, join his campaign or make appearances on his behalf.
DeSantis endorsed Donald Trump for president on a day that ended the Republican presidential primary campaign.
Still, he made it clear he had no interest in joining the race and was instead focused on the Sunshine State.
“People are talking about me. I wouldn’t do that,” he said.

Former rival, now friend?
During the campaign, the rivalry between Ron DeSantis and Trump was at times so intense that it seemed comical.
DeSantis’ campaign, which took full responsibility for his defeat in the Republican primary, created a widely criticized “incident tracker” to keep tabs on Trump’s activities.
The governor didn’t help his cause either. He promoted the false narrative that Trump “attacks” Israel and “praises” Hezbollah. He called Trump supporters “listless vessels.” And said Trump should do more to stop the Capitol riots.
Meanwhile, the Trump campaign has mocked DeSantis mercilessly, even calling him a “pathetic little man” just two months ago who will forever be remembered for his “chicken fingers and pudding cups.” People remember.
But hey, if they can kiss and make up, anything is possible, right?
Maybe DeSantis will Reconsidering his opposition to serving as Trump’s vice president.
