EcoFlow just released the new Delta Pro 3 portable solar generator that can power your entire home, your van or RV’s electrical system, or a beach party during a power outage. In a pinch, it can even add a few miles of range to your electric car.
The Delta Pro 3 improves on the powerful Delta Pro I reviewed in 2022, with more storage capacity, more powerful inputs and outputs, less noise, and a wider wheelbase that will make Moving the 115-pound (52-kilogram) battery just got easier.
As a home backup solution, a single Delta Pro 3 (DP3) battery can be expanded from 4kWh LFP capacity to 12kWh when stacked with two 4kWh expansion batteries. Notably, it can power 120V and 240V devices with output power up to 4000W (8000W peak). This is enough to power nearly every appliance in the home, including induction cooktops, cooling and heating systems, well pumps, and refrigerators.
You can also connect DP3 units together for even more power and capacity. Three maximum output DP3 units connected to the EcoFlow Smart Home Panel 2 provide up to 12kW of output and 48kWh of storage. That’s enough to power the average American home for about a day and a half, or longer if you’re only powering critical equipment.
It also plugs directly into your home’s circuit via an inlet box or manual transfer switch, replacing a noisy (but much cheaper) diesel generator. The DP3 has an IP65 rating so protection should be taken when exposed to rain.
The DP3 battery can be charged in a number of different ways, including 1000W and 1600W solar input, 1800W (120V) or 3000W (240V) AC wall charger, 4000W Level 2 EV charger (with adapter) or EcoFlow’s own Dual fuel generator. When used with EcoFlow’s alternator charger (800W), it can also be charged in a van, pickup or motorhome, or very slowly through a 12V cigarette lighter socket. It also supports multi-charging, combining multiple inputs to achieve up to 7000W fast charging.
Outdoors, the Delta Pro 3 can also be used to power RVs and vans. It has a TT-30R outlet that provides 120V/30A to power the vehicle’s entire electrical system, including heavy loads such as air conditioners and microwaves. The DP3 also features a 12V/30A Anderson port to power the device’s low voltage DC devices such as lights, USB sockets and portable refrigerators. This makes this all-in-one solution an attractive alternative to complex multi-component truck extensions.
Importantly, the DP3 is extremely quiet, which is crucial for use in small living spaces. EcoFlow claims operating noise is less than 30dB when running at 2000W, thanks to improved thermal management brought about by its higher-capacity Delta Pro Ultra series. This means your refrigerator, MaxxFan, and lights should stay quiet when powered with your Starlink internet system.
The Delta Pro 3 sells for $3,699 each, with a discounted price of $3,199 from today through July 23. When the DP3 is combined with an extended battery, the price jumps to $6,298 (or $5,498 as of July 23). The product will be available in Europe and the UK later in September.
