The latest M2 iPad Air is the model that best fits that moniker, and adding a new 13-inch model to the 11-inch model, it’s a viable alternative to the iPad Pro. For most people, this is a better option, especially if you can buy it at a discount. There’s a lot to get buyers excited about the new iPad Air, including a fast chip and a gorgeous display.
While these iPad Airs use older Liquid Retina technology rather than the mini-LED of the previous Pro or the tandem OLED of the latest M4 iPad Pro, they’re still nothing to sneeze at. These models are a fraction of the price of the latest iPad Pro, starting at just $599, so it might be worth the splurge.

How much does the iPad Air cost?
The 11-inch model of Apple’s latest iPad Air features lateral speakers with spatial audio capabilities for an immersive listening experience, while the 13-inch model delivers additional bass for enhanced audio. While these tablets may be using slightly older M2 chips, they still promise to pack a serious punch. The base 11-inch model with 128GB of storage is just $599, or you can upgrade to a 256GB model for $100 more. The 512GB and 1TB models are priced at $899 and $1,099 respectively.
The iPad Air isn’t the only new option on the market. If you’re looking for a more advanced, sturdier Apple tablet, the latest iPad Pro might be for you. These new Pro models promise to impress, with upgraded FaceTime camera placement and a slimmer redesign to make the device more portable. If you go Pro over the Air, you’ll have no problem getting by with the M3 chip, as Apple has loaded the latest iPad Pro with the powerful M4 chip, bringing the ability to handle its new Ultra Retina XDR OLED display with (explosive) HDR brightness for 1,600 nits) and so on. These upgrades come at a price, with the base model starting at $999. You can pre-order the iPad Pro now.
We also expect that soon we’ll start seeing a lot of deals on older model iPads, which may be a better option for budget-conscious buyers who don’t mind the previous generation model.

You can order the new iPad Air now directly from Apple, starting at $599. Those who pre-order with Apple Card can save a little extra and get up to 3% cash back on their purchase.
Best Buy currently doesn’t offer direct discounts on iPad Air models, but it does offer freebies with orders. New and existing subscribers can get three months of free Apple TV Plus and Apple Music, four free months of Apple Arcade, and one free month of MLS Season Pass. Also included is three months of free Apple Fitness Plus, but this offer is only for new subscribers.
If you have an older iPad and are willing to sell it, Best Buy is also offering trade-in deals of up to $310 on eligible devices.
Walmart is currently offering a small $14 discount on certain configurations of the new iPad Air, but that’s better than nothing. There are better deals elsewhere.

Although B&H isn’t currently offering any discounts on Apple’s latest iPad Air models, that doesn’t mean you can’t save some cash. If you have another Apple device, whether it’s an iPad, Mac or Apple Watch, you can lower the price by trading it in. Depending on the device, this may make your new Air free.
There is another way to save. If you make a purchase using your B&H Payboo credit card, you will receive your tax refund in the form of a cash refund. This can be a pretty good change, depending on where you live.
Amazon is currently offering an outright discount on the new M2 iPad Air, albeit a small one. You can save $29 on the 11-inch model now, while buyers can save up to $35 on the 13-inch model. Discounts may vary depending on the color you choose, so be sure to check before purchasing.
Currently, Verizon is offering you up to $180 in rebates when you trade in your device, and you can also choose to save $280 through bill credits when you buy a new 5G iPhone.
