Sure, the Yankees and Mets are crosstown rivals, but now, their respective booths have grown apart from each other.
It started on Tuesday when Yankees broadcaster Michael Kay was unhappy with an ad for the Mets booth, which Kay called “the best booth in baseball,” on his own radio show.
Kay criticized ESPN New York’s top executives, calling the placement of the ad on the show “completely incompetent.” Of course, Kai also defended his YES Network partners, saying he would replace anyone taking over them.

Well, with Game 2 of the Subway Series being rain-delayed, it gave the New York Mets announcers some time to crack a joke.
Play-by-play announcer Gary Cohn says he met Yankees’ new ‘very talented young man’ [radio] Broadcaster” Emmanuel Berbari, who has worked with Justin Shackil on WFAN since John Sterling retired.
Analyst Ron Darling isn’t about to pass up the opportunity.
“How does he feel about our show?” darling, the former cosmopolitan askedreignited the war.
“Well, I don’t think he really has any input,” Cohen responded.

“I think it’s time to play baseball,” Cohen said shyly, trying to smooth things over.
“Got to go there,” Hernandez replied.
Cohen and Kay are old friends in the industry, so maybe this is just for fun. Kai even said he would crush any beef necessary.

The Mets continued their hot streak by sweeping two games 12-2 on Wednesday. Their 17-6 record in June is the best in the majors this month, and the Yankees have now lost nine of their past 12 games after a hot start.
