Universal Music Group has announced that Joakim Johansson has been promoted to president of Universal Music Central and Northern Europe.

Johnson joined UMG in 2013 as general manager of Universal Music Sweden and was promoted to managing director six years later.
During his tenure at UMG, he “led the company to regain its position as market leader in Sweden, achieving huge success both domestically and internationally with artists such as Avicii, Tove Lo, Loreen, and the critically acclaimed ABBA Voyage album, among others,” UMG explain.
