President Joe Biden looked and sounded completely different as he spoke honestly about his debate performance at a rally in North Carolina.
“I know. I’m not a young man anymore,” Biden said. “Let’s take the obvious. Well, I know. I don’t walk as easily as I used to. I don’t speak as smoothly as I used to. I don’t speak as smoothly as I used to. Debate. But I know how to tell the truth. I know what’s right and wrong. I know how to get things done. Like all Americans, when you get knocked down, you get back up.

Biden deserves credit for being honest with the American people and himself. Biden did not shy away from the topic. He didn’t imitate Trump or lie about his performance. President Biden is honest as he vows to keep fighting and get back on his feet.
The Biden who shows up in North Carolina is the one who can defeat Donald Trump and win the election. The difference is night and day, likely due to the realities of the first debate and mistakes that every sitting president has made. Sometimes sitting presidents need a kick in the ass to get them locked in and back into campaign mode.
What America is seeing in North Carolina is a Biden campaign, a candidate for whom Donald Trump has no answer in this election.
