Despite the media focus on Biden’s age, a growing body of data shows just how poor Donald Trump’s debate performance was.
Biden-Harris pollster Molly Murphy told MSNBC’s Jen Psaki:
So to explain this to the audience, we have swing voters. They were in the Midwest, sitting in a room, watching the debate. Everyone has a dial, a literal dial. You can turn it up to 100. , those dials are going to fall off, they just absolutely plummet.
…
So they’re looking at that as they try to determine if it’s a choice between the two candidates. We are watching their choices. When they see Donald Trump, when they hear about Donald Trump, these dials go down, especially when he talks about January 6th, they go down when he talks about Roy , which didn’t get much post-game follow-up. But he was proud of unseating Roe in that debate, and voters took notice. When he refused three times he said he would accept the election results unless he liked the results.
That was his absolute bottom moment, and the president really hit him hard. Some of the most independent statements made by viewers of People on Our Dial are that the only felon in the room is sitting across from me. It was one of the most striking lines of the evening’s discussion, and you know, the morals of wildcat people really got attention and attention.
Jump out. Every time the president reminds voters how dishonest they will be and how untrustworthy they are in Donald Trump. A constant reminder of the contrasts we are making in this game.

It’s not just Biden pollsters who are finding Trump underperforming among swing voters. The latest CBS poll surrounding Biden actually contains poor data on Trump’s debate performance.
A focus group of swing voters who watched the debate were very disgusted with Trump.
If Biden gets back on track and changes tactics to prove to voters that he has the energy and ability to get the job done, he will have a chance to win.
Biden’s problems are solvable. Donald Trump can’t solve the fact that his biggest problem is Donald Trump.
