Let Daniel Molloy (Eric Bogosian) Give Louis (played by Jacob Anderson) The interview leads to the final and decisive disruption in Armand’s (Assad Zaman) marriage’s troubles.
It’s a clear vendetta for our entertainment when Molloy plays barbecue host like he did back in the day Morrie or divorce court episode, because you’ll be yelling at “And That’s The End Of It.” Nothing else”—Episode 8 on AMC and AMC+ Interview with a Vampire second season. The series introduced Showrunner Rollin Jones as the scribe of all the explosive revenge and revelations in Levan Arkin’s finale.
Louis’ story is coming to an end. After the trial, he was buried alive and described his isolating, suffocating agony of guilt over Claudia’s death. Armand fed him blood and cared for his coffin, while Louis was kept alive by thoughts of revenge, and when he was strong enough, he escaped. Madness, rage and determination lead him to hide instead of running away as Armand would have liked. No, Luis is going to punish Santiago (Ben Daniels) and his cruel tribe for what they did to them.
Of course, Santiago now runs the Vampire Theater and enjoys the power. It’s a joy to see it interrupted when Louis shows up and burns this crap troupe down. He burned some of the weaker pack members alive in coffins, but the main instigators of Claudia’s death escaped, including Santiago, Celeste, and Estelle. The immortal mean girls duo get their comeuppance for a motorcycle explosion, and it’s a real treat to cheer together in a Tarantino moment. It adds to the fun to watch the show get into full swing with extreme violence, especially during the chase between Santiago and Luis. Daniels plays it all brilliantly, as ever, a gestural villain and drama queen who dashes like a rat into the sewers to escape. At this point, Louis knew Paris better than he did, and he carried out medieval executions directly with a knife, beheading the short-time foreman and stomping on his head because Santiago said he used Claudia’s ashes to do the real thing to himself. Something that people hate. There were laughs as Luis kicked a goal as he kicked Santiago’s head off the screen like a football (top TV right there).
The story seems to end with a “happily ever after” between Armand and Louise, finally freed from the shackles of the coven. They go to meet Lester (Sam Reid), who seeks isolation in his dead master’s prison. There, the charismatic vampire is shattered by what he did to his daughter, but Louis doesn’t care, still excited by all the violence. To punish Leicester and the others No Kill him – although that was allegedly Louis’ original intention. His former lover does laugh at Armand, saying it would be difficult to do because he has Akasha’s blood in him. Armand is clueless as this is Leicester’s meeting with Marius, but he realizes that he may not know what his master knows about their ancient maker. Now is a good time to give us a wink at The Vampire Chronicles fans. The story continues with Louis leaving Lester soul dead and choosing Armand over him just to piss him off. True love and “endings,” right?
Incorrect! Molloy was given a copy of Sam (another vampire survivor in the hybrid script) provided by the real Rasheed of Taramusca. Judgment! Accompanied by notes from the play’s director, Armand. It turns out that Sam disagrees with Armand’s intentions to destroy the coven, and becomes Taramasca’s mole – presumably to protect himself from Louis’ wrath, as he could one day help destroy his ethereal, lithe husband’s nonsense.
This is when Molloy gets loaded Morrie and Judge Judy Wrapped in a wise, grumpy old reporter who also wants to return to San Francisco for Armand. They carefully examined the script notes in Armand’s work and discovered that he was not as much of a victim as Louis had believed; in fact, he had been involved all along and Louis was doomed to die. The “Expulsion” verdict was impromptu by the show’s only guest, who proved he could captivate an audience who, as Molloy reminded Louis, used the power of his mind to make an entire army leave their new home. Home in Orleans, and the people we know can only do it with the blood of Akasha. Lester saves Louis and Armand gets the credit!
One word: divorce! Louis and Armand solve the problem, while Molloy is told to escape. Louis lit up his laptop, but we already knew Taramasca backed up our boy’s files. Armand is ordered to keep Molloy alive, while Louis decides to leave and reconcile with the man who actually saved him.
Lester lives, and we see a familiar sight of New Orleans. Louis goes on a ghost tour, following the breadcrumbs that might lead to Leicester, and soon discovers a twitching feather that leads him to a shabby little shack. There, he had an iPad for music and a wooden board with a fingernail-scratched piano keyboard. Devastated by the loss of Claudia and Louis, he haunts the home while foolishly letting a millennial vampire wander around and planning his musical “tour” (a tease from season three). Louis asks him straight to the point why he let Armand take credit for saving him, and Lester says it’s the complicated mystery of a self-aware megalomaniac, “I don’t like pointing out my virtues.” Between them A hurricane surrounds them as the emotional walls between them crumble between their love for Claudia and their terrible father. Louis assures Lester that it’s not his fault, of course…but, they did play a huge role in her fate. I still hope she haunts them! They kiss and make up.
Finally Molloy talks about his book on TV show Visit the Vampire, humans think it’s a joke, but vampires are about to go to war over it. Taramasca and Molloy worked together to achieve this goal, but the Clans everywhere were outraged by the exposure, and whispers among themselves reached Lois. They fight for him and won’t stop. Oh, and these whispers? Molloy could hear them now, for Armand turned. We love what this means for him and his future in publishing—and getting a new chance to keep his true geekiness on the show going.
We can’t wait to see Lester put together a band next season and use the truth of their existence as a gimmick to distract from the anger toward his man. It gets wilder and more unhinged. let’s go!
