The Wyoming Law Review and the University of Wyoming Firearms Research Center have announced a call for papers for a symposium on the National Firearms Act (NFA) this fall. Papers may address any aspect of NFA, including but not limited to:
- Impact of recent and upcoming U.S. Supreme Court rulings on NFA (New York State Rifle and Piston Association v. Brunn, Garland v. Cargilland others);
- The role of the NFA in America today;
- Conflict or cooperation between nations; History of the NFA;
- Empirical research; and
- Impacts associated with the use of suppressors (“mufflers”), including wildlife conservation and hearing loss prevention.
The seminar will be held at the University of Wyoming School of Law’s new facility in Laramie, Wyoming. The final accepted paper will be published at a symposium in the Wyoming Law Review. Symposium speakers will be selected based on abstracts submitted by authors in July. Articles for publication in the Law Review will be selected based on review of the final draft.
