Unlike the Asus Zenbook Duo and Lenovo Yoga Book 9i we reviewed earlier this year, it no A dual-screen tablet with a detachable keyboard; this is definitely one laptop There’s an extra screen on the hinge that swings all the way. Unlike the upcoming GPD Duo, it swings horizontally instead of vertically. The company calls it “the world’s first horizontally foldable 360-degree laptop.”
While we don’t have a price, release date, or full spec sheet yet, this laptop doesn’t appear to be suitable for gaming or high-end productivity; it will feature the two-year-old 12th Gen Intel Core i7-1255U processor (which we expect this year Coming in the fall is Gen 15), 16GB DDR4 memory and a 1TB PCIe 3.0 SSD.
It also only supports USB-A and USB-C ports and HDMI 2.0 5Gbps transmission speed, but does not support HDMI 2.1 video output. One of its two USB-C ports is used only for charging.
Still, there are plenty of tasks that don’t necessarily require a ton of horsepower but would benefit from more visual real estate—and a second screen isn’t the only unique thing about this machine!
Acemagic X1 also includes (and I quote):
In addition to its unique appeal, ACEMAGIC has Steve Jobs’ iconic quote “Stay Hungry, Stay Foolish” engraved in real gold on the left side of the keyboard. This touch symbolizes the premium quality and innovative spirit of the device.
(No, we don’t have a picture of the gold lettering to see if Steve Jobs’ name is also on the side of this laptop.)
