Independence Day, which marked our country’s successful rejection of an authoritarian king 248 years ago, takes a somber turn as Donald Trump and his Republican supporters publicly work to restore the monarchy in the United States.
Biden-Harris 2024 spokesperson Sarafina Chitika addresses the many shocking events leading up to today and Donald Trump’s rejection of democracy and putting his own power ahead of our country’s , declaring that he would be a dictator for one day, making a statement that incited history to violence, deadly rebellions, and more.
“Today is a day to celebrate the freedoms that Donald Trump seeks to take away, to honor the troops he calls ‘suckers’ and ‘losers,’ and to commemorate the birth of our democracy. Felon Donald Trump Fighting to make himself a dictator,” Chitika wrote in a statement to POLITICO America.
“This Fourth of July, the stakes for future elections could not be higher, with everything we hold dear as Americans at risk. Voters will face Joe Biden, who has fought to protect our freedoms, our democracy and our military) and a wannabe tyrant who only cares about himself. The choice couldn’t be clearer.
This is a pivotal Fourth of July in our nation’s history. The country has never faced such a serious threat to lose the foundation on which this country was built.
The Revolutionary War was fought so that Americans could escape a system where the king was above the law and the right to self-determination did not exist.
248 years later, that same right to self-determination is at risk, so the Biden-Harris campaign is right. Today is a day to celebrate these freedoms and, more importantly, a day to vow never to allow these freedoms to be taken away.
