Joe Biden sat down with George Stephanopoulos for an interview with ABC News on Friday.
Lost Joe’s performance is about as good as expected.
George Stephanopoulos: Did you watch the debate afterward?
Joe Biden: I don’t think I did, no.
George Stephanopoulos: What I want to ask is, what did you experience during the debate? Do you know how bad it is?
Joe Biden: Yeah, look, (pause) the whole process of my preparation, it was no one’s fault, mine. No one is at fault but me. I came back as I had done before, as a foreign leader or on the National Security Council, prepared as I would normally do to get clear details. Halfway through I realized I could quote this, The New York Times had me down 10 points before the debate and now it’s 9 points, or whatever it is. The truth is, I saw him lie 28 times too. I can not. I mean, it’s not my fault or anyone else’s fault the way the debate went.
George Stephanopoulos: But from the first question, even before he spoke, you seemed to be in trouble.
Joe Biden: Well, I just had a bad night.
