When it comes to game show etiquette, Jeopardy! contestants are used to following certain standards. For Drew Basil, the first “Survivor” contestant to appear on the game show, his excitement quickly overshadowed what should have been a “calm” celebration.
During an episode of “Rob Has a Podcast,” the Michigan State grad student admitted to never actually watching “Jeopardy” before appearing on the show, revealing he was forced to re-record the winning moment because of his “huge reaction.” .
“Obviously, I had a big reaction at the end of the game because, you know, it was like a Western Conference matchup,” he said of his matchup against rival Josh Hight. “I had such a huge reaction that I thought we had to re-record it.”

“I was like, ‘Let’s go!'” he said, pumping his fist in the air.
“They said, ‘We don’t do this?'” one podcast co-host asked the producers for their reaction.
“Well, ‘Jeopardy!’ is so classy. “It’s kind of muted compared to some of the hate in ‘Survivor,'” he added of the remake.

Basel had mixed reactions to his behavior on set. (Danger)
Basel’s overreaction earned him mixed feedback from fans of the show, but the negativity doesn’t seem to bother him.
“I was a polarizing character on ‘Jeopardy,'” he said. “They’re very poised, they dress up to encourage the best qualities of courtesy and integrity, and people don’t really show off.”

“I have no problem with either of those things, I like to show off,” he added. “I think [because I have] More individual than the average winning player, [it] Might be a little disturbing [some] Audience,” he speculated.
“Everyone likes to go against the winner… You don’t want the winner to be some nice guy you invite to your house, that’s boring. I’d love to be a bandwagon… I’ll live by it, ” he concluded.

Compared with Basel, “Danger” Contestants Erin Buker set a game show record by scoring the second-lowest points in game history this season.
After an incident in June, the stay-at-home mom walked away with $7,200. This low score follows former contestant Patrick Pearce’s $7,400 hit in July 2021.
Booker told Fox News Digital that while she had a “pretty cool” time recording the episode, she described it as an “out-of-body experience.”

“You’re searching, you see the clue, but you don’t remember what category it is,” she explained. “You’re reminding yourself not to make weird faces because you’re on live television…The way they record it it’s like a live show. They really try to keep it tight.”

She continued, “So you’re like, don’t make weird faces, don’t… do anything weird, that’s always going through your head. And then, you see the answer right in front of you… all of this It’s all very vague and I can’t explain it.
“It was all happening,” she said, “and it was all happening at the same time, and there was just a lot of noise in the head, and it was also an out-of-body experience.”
