Democrats’ despair over Joe Biden is growing, and final answers about his political future could come this week, fueled by one particularly influential figure.
Axios released a bombshell report on Sunday saying that as Dementia Joe refuses to drop out of the presidential race, more Democrats are begging and plotting to intervene. They hope everyone from the Obamas to congressional leaders can convince Biden to withdraw by Friday.
Top Democrats hope Biden will be out by then because they hope he can back Harris as his successor and help avoid an all-out brawl over the nomination at the Democratic convention in Chicago.

If Biden endorses Vice President Harris as the nominee, she will need time to get up to speed and pick a running mate. If Biden doesn’t designate, governors and ambitious Democrats will frantically try to win the nomination at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago in mid-August.
“This is going to be a big deal when Congress comes back on Monday,” one House Democrat told Axios. “People are scared about their race. But they’re also scared about the country and democracy.
Several House members are reportedly close to publicly speaking out or signing letters asking Biden to give up. Those conversations will heat up this week, the outlet reported.
A senior Democratic official told Axios that the only person unaware of Biden’s dangerous political stance is Biden himself.
In fact, Sunday’s Washington Post revealed that an adviser to a big Democratic donor said that “for every 10 people who think he should quit, one thinks he should stay.” The report also noted that those “in the People who publicly vouched for Biden at the behest of the White House and the campaign are privately saying there is no way out.”
The news is spreading beyond the Beltway bubble, too. A national lawmaker in a battleground state told Axios that the only issue voters wanted to discuss at the monthly forum was Biden’s age.
Axios notes that all eyes are on former Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) for her ability to tell Biden to pack his stuff.
According to the Gateway Pundit, Pelosi’s mental acuity toward Biden suddenly shifted last week after previously denying concerns. She told MSNBC on Tuesday that there was a legitimate question as to whether his performance at the debate was a one-off or a sign of a more serious health issue.
