Despite wanting to distance himself from Plan 2025 and even claiming not to know who was behind it, former President Donald Trump remains a central figure in the (deeply troubling) conservative group’s plan to Reshaping American government after Trump’s election.
On Wednesday, Seth Meyers got a “closer look” at the 900-page script and all of its disturbing details late at night.
Meyers explained of Project 2025: “Donald Trump and his allies have a wildly insane plan against a far-right authoritarian government that will jail opponents, wage an all-out war on reproductive rights, and Dismantling American Democracy.” “Even if you haven’t read it, you can tell from the name that it’s pretty creepy.”
In an opportune moment, Meyers uses a post-apocalyptic nightmare the last of us Aim for the title of the document.
“Project 2025 sounds like the name of a government research program that accidentally created mushroom zombies,” Meyers said, pulling up an image of a hulking, indestructible bloat from the HBO show. “A group of survivors should be sitting around a campfire talking about this. It all started with Project 2025. It was supposed to provide renewable energy to all of humanity, but instead it turned Pedro Pascal into a zaddy.”
