Actress Shannen Doherty has died of cancer, People magazine reports.
The “Beverly Hills: 90210” star is 53 years old.
“It is with a heavy heart that I confirm the passing of actress Shannen Doherty. On Saturday, July 13, she lost her years-long battle with cancer,” her publicist Leslie Sloane said. ) told the media.
“A devoted daughter, sister, aunt and friends are surrounded by her loved ones as well as her dog Bowie. The family asks for their privacy at this time so they can grieve in peace,” she added.

Doherty was originally diagnosed with breast cancer 2015.
By then, the virus had spread to her lymph nodes. By 2017, she was in remission, but the cancer returned in 2020.

Last November, Doherty shared that her cancer had metastasized and spread to her brain.
