The Gamma PS1 emulator has received a number of major updates since its launch in May as one of the first iPhone console emulators. The latest update adds new “enhanced audio” features and better multiplayer support, and joins other key updates from the past few weeks.
Developer Benjamin Stark (aka ZodTTD) told edge In an email, he said the enhanced audio feature in the latest update improves audio “using reverb and interpolation effects.” He also “added Multitap emulation” for games using Sony’s adapter, which increases the PS1’s number of controller ports from two to four. (This is used for games like crash team racing, NBA Jam: Championship Editionand more.
Among other recent updates, Stark has added analog stick support for games using Sony’s Dual Shock controller, as well as the ability to switch discs without returning to the main menu of multi-disc games, such as Metal Gear Solid. He also launched a new “Pro” upgrade, priced at $4.99, that turns off ads entirely.
