Sen. Chuck Grassley releases new police body camera footage showing Secret Service and local Beaver County officers arriving at Thomas Matthew Crooks’ address to Trump and rally The moment participants fired shots from the roof.
Grassley wrote, “The body camera footage from July 13 provides more information than the Secret Service has shared with the United States. We need detailed answers to the security failures as soon as possible. Transparency brings accountability.”
Grassley added that he obtained the footage from Beaver County Emergency Services following a congressional request.
At the beginning of the video, Beaver County officials say a sniper took multiple photos of Thomas Crooks before he opened fire on Trump and several supporters.
The officer can be heard saying that the sniper who took the photo was in a neighboring building, quite close to where Crooks later fired his weapon.
A Secret Service agent later asked police about the two people who were detained after the shooting, but Beaver County officials on the roof said they were unaware of anyone being detained.
In the background of the film, Crook’s lifeless body is blurred, with a stream of blood running down the roof.
