BMG’s Maximilian Kolb has resigned as executive vice president of programming and marketing for continental Europe after more than a decade with the company.
Alistair Norbury, president of drama and marketing for the UK and Asia Pacific, will take over Kolb’s responsibilities on an interim basis until the end of the year.
Kolb joined BMG in 2012 as A&R Manager and gradually assumed additional responsibilities before being named GSA Managing Director in 2019.
He was subsequently promoted in 2021 to executive vice president of programming and marketing for Continental Europe.
During his tenure at BMG, the company noted “significant growth” in its recording and publishing businesses.
BMG’s successful artist and publishing clients during this period included Max Giesinger, Kontra K, Cypress Hill, Marteria, Adel Tawil, Lina, Solomun, Scorpions, Robin Schulz and Silbermond.
Acquisitions led by Kolb include the German Schlager brand Telamo and rights packages for Tina Turner, Jean-Michel Jarre, Martin Solveig, Nena, Cro and Eurodance including Snap!, Haddaway and Dr. Alban.

Elsewhere at BMG, in May, the company’s former executive vice president of global corporate communications Steve Redmond resigned from his role at the company after 12 years.
In March of this year, BMG’s former chief content officer Dominique Casimir resigned from his position after 15 years with the company.
BMG’s former long-time boss Hartwig Masuch resigned as chief executive of the Bertelsmann unit last year.
His successor is Thomas Coesfeld, who joined Berlin-based BMG as chief financial officer in April 2021.
