Gateway Pundit reports that actress Gina Carano has filed a lawsuit against the Walt Disney Company and Lucasfilm after her role in the Disney+ Star Wars show “The Mandalorian” was canceled.
The lawsuit alleges that Carano was unfairly fired from her role as rebel fighter Cara Dune for expressing right-wing views on the social media platform.
Carano is seeking justice through a court order that would either reinstate the series or pay at least $75,000 in damages. The actress claims the firing caused her emotional turmoil and resulted in millions of dollars in lost potential income.
A federal judge in Los Angeles has now denied Disney’s motion to dismiss the lawsuit. The judge rejected Disney’s claim that it “had the right to distinguish its artistic message from Carano’s outspoken ‘political beliefs.'”
Carano shared the news on X.
