J.D. Vance tried to insult Gov. Josh Shapiro by comparing him to Barack Obama, while Shapiro criticized Trump’s running mate.
A reporter told Governor Shapiro, “Governor, J.D. Vance just talked about you, and these are his words, quotes, and he compared you to a very bad impression of Barack Obama. What’s your response to that?” ?
Shapiro said:
Is that what he said? That’s great. I like how we get real-time quotes here. I mean, look, I don’t know. Barack Obama is probably the most gifted speaker of our time, so I guess this is an odd insult.
But, look, I’m talking about J.D. Vance. Yes. It’s really hard to be honest with the American people. When you are not honest with yourself. JD Vance is a total liar. I think he’s the least dynamic candidate I’ve ever seen on the national stage. He didn’t know what he believed. That’s why it’s impossible for him to deliver a coherent message to the American people.
Because he doesn’t believe it. This guy got off to a rocky start. It’s clear that Donald Trump does regret his choices. So if he wants to throw an insult at me (which I’m not even sure is an insult), then let him. It doesn’t matter. bring it on. I’ll be ready for whatever J.D. Vance throws at me.

Trump made a big mistake in choosing Vance, and he seems to know it, which is why the former president claims that the choice of running mate doesn’t matter.
But Trump is the oldest major-party nominee in U.S. history, so his choice of running mate is important. The odds that 82-year-old Donald Trump will still be alive in four years are slim. Trump showed no consideration for the country in choosing Vance.
Also, JD Vance is a terrible candidate. He was a terrible Senate candidate who only won his seat because of Ohio’s Republican leanings. Vance is a terrible senator, so it shouldn’t surprise anyone that he’s a terrible running mate.
Josh Shapiro, on the other hand, is showing why Vice President Harris should choose him. Shapiro is a talented communicator with excellent political skills, administrative experience and a willingness to govern when necessary.
Shapiro is everything Vance is not, and the Shapiro-Vance vice presidential debate was not a good one for Republicans.
