New York developer Jeffrey Levine and his wife, U.S. Ambassador to Portugal Randi Charno Levine, sell Greenwich Village townhouse for nearly $22 million villa, new york post reported Thursday.
The property at 81 Barrow Street in New York’s West Village neighborhood is no longer listed for sale, according to Zillow. The multifamily property sold on July 31 for $21.5 million. Details on this listing are limited.
The couple purchased the 4,925-square-foot, three-story home in 2011 for $12.7 million.
The townhouse was built in the early 1850s by master stonemason James Vandenbergh, who was responsible for the construction of Trinity Church. According to the historical marker database HMdb.org, the historic home is built in an Italianate style with a paneled roof cornice, ironwork and a rustic basement.
The Bedford Barrow Commerce Block Association has put up a plaque at 81 Barrow Street which reads: “This house is the only one in a row of three houses built on Trinity Church land. of survivors.
Levine’s sale of the Greenwich Village property isn’t the only reason he’s making headlines. As founder and chairman of real estate company Douglaston Development, Levine has a long list of ongoing developments.
In June, The Real Deal reported that Douglaston purchased a 90-unit rental building at 1450 Third Avenue on the Upper East Side in the Bronx. The company purchased the property from longtime owner Majorie Nesbitt for $114.5 million.
Levine’s plans for a rental building include a 39-story, 478-foot-tall, 72-unit building at 175 East 82nd Street.
CetraRuddy Architecture is designing the project, which will include first-floor retail, second-floor parking and apartment units in the residential tower. PincusCo said amenities will include a swimming pool, yoga studio and media room.
