Two NFL teams practice in 90-degree temperatures in August – what could go wrong?
The New York Giants and Detroit Lions got into at least a few serious altercations during Big Blue’s joint training camp practice on Monday.
The Lions traveled to New Jersey for two days of practice, and it didn’t take long for tempers to flare.

Perhaps the biggest fight started after Amon-Ra St. Brown and Drew Phillips exchanged pleasantries, with the All-Pro receiver pushing the Giants before the two came together, as did several other players Physical altercation.
But the big surprise came later when Giants quarterback Daniel Jones was one of the first to go down and get dirty on another scrimmage.
Giants offensive lineman Jon Runyon was tackled to the ground by a Lions defensive lineman, much to the quarterback’s annoyance, who hit the ball from behind.
“That’s what it is, try to stand up for your players,” Jones said afterward.

Jones is recovering from a torn ACL he suffered on Nov. 5 against the Las Vegas Raiders, but he’s clearly giving it his all in training camp.
It’s been a disappointing season for Big Blue, who finished 6-11 after a surprise playoff appearance in 2022. They’re much improved on paper after adding Brian Burns, a new offensive lineman and drafting Malik Nabers.
The Lions, meanwhile, were just shy of their first Super Bowl appearance, but they took the San Francisco 49ers back to the big dance with a 24-7 halftime lead.

The two will kick off the preseason Thursday night at MetLife Stadium.
