    The American team is about to win the medal, and the location of the Olympic version of the semi-finals and semi-finals has been moved from Lille to Paris.

    Will the White Sox get their first win since July 10 before heading into the next game and medal game?

    Maybe if they had a pitcher like Padres ace Dylan Seth, I don’t know?

    San Diego Padres vs. Pittsburgh Pirates, 6:40 p.m. ET

    Don’t look now, but the Padres might be the team to beat in the National League West.

    That’s certainly been the case since the All-Star break. The Friars are 11-3 since halftime, and a big reason why is right-hander Dylan Cease. Side note: He must be pretty excited now that he can’t play for the struggling White Sox.

    He threw a no-hitter on July 25 and was 4-2 with a 2.35 ERA in July, allowing one run in four consecutive starts over 27+ innings. Four hits.

    The Pirates were unable to put Paul Skenes on the mound for a dream matchup on Tuesday, and facing Seth was a nightmare for Pittsburgh. Seth is 1-0 with a 2.53 ERA in two career starts.

    It’s tempting to go into lockdown. Seth has struck out 36 in his last four starts and has an ERA of 0.33. But he’s not immune to ace punches.

    However, the Pirates’ strikeout rate remains low at over 25%. Pittsburgh strikes out more than nine times per game and ranks 26th in MLB in contact rate. The Pirates struck out 1,019 times in 111 games.

    Chicago White Sox vs. Oakland Athletics, 9:41 p.m. ET

    We’re not opposed to kicking a dead horse when it comes to MLB records, and the White Sox have shown zero signs of life.

    With another loss on Monday, the White Sox entered Tuesday’s game on a record 21-game losing streak and fielded another rookie pitcher.

    Jonathan Cannon got the ball on Tuesday, but like the White Sox, he hasn’t experienced a win in a while. Since recording one win and one save in his first six games (five starts), Cannon is 0-4 with a 4.78 ERA.

    Of course, a little running support might help. Chicago has scored 353 runs in 111 games and is the only MLB team without 100 home runs this season.
