President Biden hosted the defending World Series champion Texas Rangers at the White House on Thursday.
The president cracked some jokes soon after entering the East Room of the White House. Biden even complimented Rangers pitcher Nathan Eovaldi’s suit, saying, “Looks good, Nathan.”
After Biden made some comments about the Rangers’ championship season, head coach Bruce Bochy presented him with a custom jersey. Biden then held up his jersey and posed for a photo. Boch also gave the president a pair of cowboy boots.
After a moment, Biden asked, “Okay, what am I doing now?” as guests and players laughed.

The president then made what appeared to be a joke, asking a military aide approaching him if he was trying to take one of the gifts he had just received.
“Did you steal my jersey?” he asked, before smiling and handing over a personalized gift.

After standing awkwardly on stage for a few seconds, the president raised his hands as music played in the background.
“Dear guests, please remain seated as the President leaves,” the host announced. Biden walked off the stage and greeted two children sitting in the front row.
The president then faced the Rangers players, gave them a military salute, then turned and walked out of the room.
Last year, the Rangers defeated the Arizona Diamondbacks in five games to win the franchise’s first World Series title.
Shortstop Corey Seager was awarded the Series MVP.
