1. Karen DeBoer exceeded recruiting expectations in his first offseason in Tuscaloosa.
Gorney: Facts. Have a funny idea Karen DeBoer Once he got to Alabama, he would have been disappointed as a recruiter, but that wasn’t the case. Not only has DeBoer done a great job recruiting, but he has a great group of assistants who have done a tremendous job on the road, as well as the general manager Courtney Morgan He does his job as well as anyone in this country.
DeBoer led Washington to the national championship last season, winning 104 of his 116 games.
Does red tide really drop a lot?
The real question is: Alabama is known for being Division I. The Crimson Tide are currently ranked third and have no five-star commitments. Is this enough to make Bama believers happy?
Levenson: Fact. Modern sports culture has become extremely flawed, expecting immediate success. Whether it’s a new coach or a new player, fans rise up when the road hits a bumpy road. As far as DeBoer is concerned, it’s clear from the jump that he will take the torch and take on the impossible task of following, both for Bama fans and other fan bases alike Nick Saban.
However, he has definitely proven that he can and will keep the Tide at the level they have been for nearly two decades, at least from a recruiting standpoint. Success on site remains to be determined. But with a class ranked No. 3 in the country and eight solid prospects ranked in the top 100, DeBoer and his staff have found their groove.
In his first eight months in office, there were just two remote knocks. He’s losing the state battle. AuburnThe state has eight of its 15 players, compared to Bama’s three. And there are no five-stars in the class. I think both topics are extremely temporary and may change in the near future. Overall, DeBoer has been elite in his early days in Tuscaloosa.

2. Michigan is the front-runner with Jayden Sanders and Andrew Marsh.
Henschke: Fact. When these two announcements were made, Michigan felt really good about what it was doing with Jayden Sanders and Andrew Marsh, barring anything happening at the last minute. With both rookies visiting campus multiple times in recent weeks, it’s easy to see why the Wolverines’ rivalry is so fierce. The staff and the program itself did a lot to check both of them out, which is why I believe both guys will end up at UM.
Levenson: Fact. My thoughts agree with Henschke’s. The Badgers are in a very good position for both Texas skill players. Sanders has said before that it’s between Oklahoma and Michigan, and there are definitely more rumors pointing to Michigan as he commits tomorrow. The same goes for Marsh, who had more finalists, but none received more attention than the Wolverines as he prepares for his Aug. 20 commitment. I expect Michigan to have success in the Lone Star State this month.

3. The defensive backs are Oklahoma’s strongest group in the 2025 class.
Thun: Novel. Granted, there are some truly dynamic pieces in Oklahoma’s 2025 secondary class. Omarion Robinson and Marcus Wimberley are two of the top safeties in the country, and Courtland Guillory and Malik Hawkins are elite cover cornerbacks that I think are underrated. But other than wide receiver, it’s hard to pick any other position group, among which the noted recruiting wizards Emmett Jones Five top submissions have been assembled.
The headliner is Florida’s Cortez Mills, the No. 69 player in the country. But Elijah Thomas is a small-town gem and probably one of the best college-ready receivers in the country, and I’m high on three-star DFW native Emmanuel Choice ) offers the potential. Add in blue-chip players like Gracen Harris and Marcus Harris, and the strongest position group in Oklahoma’s 2025 class certainly belongs to Jones.
Levenson: Fact. Thune makes a good argument for the Sooners’ perimeter players, but I side with those who will cover them. The defensive back group has a chance to be one of, if not the, best in the country come signing day.
Robinson on display at the show Opponent five stars He is undoubtedly one of the best safeties in this class. Wimberley has the credentials to be one of the top weight class athletes in 2025, and he’ll also fit in at safety. I’m certainly a fan of Guillory and Haynes, but what stands out to me the most is what I’ve seen from Hawkins recently, he’s very physical and very, very strong technically. He dominated Oklahoma’s prospect camp and locked down everyone.
You can’t go wrong with whichever side of the argument you choose here. The Sooners have a very solid team and are heading in their direction.
