25 years later Intuit, Glenn McGillivray joins rocket company‘s parent Rocket MortgageThe company confirmed the newly created position of chief people and places officer on Thursday.
McGillivray will be responsible for the growth and development of the company’s people and workplace, including overseeing Rocket’s human resources and diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) teams, employee training and development groups and Rocket’s executive leadership development capabilities.
Prior to joining Rocket, McGillivray held various leadership roles in various human resources areas at Intuit until serving as vice president of people and positions for the company’s consumer group.
McGillivray said in a social media post that he was “thrilled” to join the Detroit-based mortgage lender whose mission is to “help everyone get home,” but that his decision to leave Intuit was not one he did “take lightly.” out.
“As we continue to redefine what homeownership means to so many people, Rocket is also driving transformational change in local communities, particularly in his hometown of Detroit,” he added.
Rocket had approximately 14,700 employees in the United States and Canada at the end of 2023, compared with 18,500 at the end of 2022.
Rocket CEO Varun Krishna, who also came from Intuit in July 2023, has pushed for many leadership changes as the company invests in artificial intelligence (AI) to transform the home-buying journey.
In January, the Rockets hired former player Jonathan Mildenhall. Airbnb and Coca Cola executive, serving in the newly created position of Chief Marketing Officer. The following month, the company was joined by fintech expert Alastair (Alex) Rampell, co-founder of several fintech companies including confirmsubmitted to its board of directors.
In May, the Rockets announced that former player Shawn Malhotra had joined the Rockets. Thomson Reuters and Intel executive, serving as the company’s first chief technology officer. In June, Heather Lovier replaced Bill Emerson as chief operating officer. Emerson remains president of the Rockets.
