We know Robert Downey Jr. is now Dr. Doom. But he also returns as Iron Man, at least at Disneyland. During this weekend’s Disney Big Experience panel at D23, Downey will reprise his role on at least one (but possibly two) of the new rides at Avengers Park at Disney California Adventure in Anaheim, California Iconic character. Along with the four new Marvel attractions revealed at the event, there are also two new Spider-Man rides.
Downey will definitely return to the Stark Flying Laboratory, a flight project first announced at the event that will take place at the Avengers campus in California. You and a friend will sit on rotating seats as part of a new experiment from Mr. Stark himself. This will join the previously announced Avengers journey across the multiverse, which is still on the way and now we know it’s called Avengers: Infinity Defense. Park visitors will travel through time, visit Wakanda, Asgard, and ultimately battle King Thanos in New York City. Construction on both rides will begin in 2025, and here are more concept images.
Now, as for Downey, D23 imagination engineer Scott Trowbridge said that Downey will return to play Stark “as we bring these new experiences to Avengers Campus.” “Experience”, plural. Disneyland Blog Says “Robert Downey Jr. Will Reprise His Role as Tony Stark” [Stark Flight Lab.]”. We’ve reached out to Disney for clarification and will update this article if we hear back.
Regardless, the two rides will double the size of the first Avengers campus, which has seen a recent resurgence thanks to the addition of Deadpool. Deadpool even made an extended appearance on the panel, pitching several Deadpool-themed rides to Disneyland executives, but those won’t happen
Two Marvel rides that are happening are set to make their debut in the Pacific. Shanghai Disneyland will launch a Spider-Man roller coaster, and Hong Kong Disneyland will launch a roller coaster that looks like Spider-Man. Here is the image.
