Denmark’s Mickey Krause won his first career Grand Slam title at the European Pool Open in Fulda, Germany on Sunday.
Krause not only celebrated his first Matchroom Major win, but also secured a spot in the first Reyes Cup later this year.
Amy Chua scored the first goal in the semi-finals, beating Shane van Boening, but Denmark star Krauss won three straight goals, including a skillful long shot on the sixth ball in the fifth, to end with 4 -1 lead.
After Klaus broke through, Chua tried to narrow the gap, but hesitated as he missed five crucial goals, giving the Dane another chance, who rewritten the score to 8-2, and soon he made it 8-2. Expanded to 10-3.
Caia’s misfortunes continued as he started the 16th with a fight, allowing Krause to reach the hill.
After Krause scored again, Amy Chua fought hard and scored three points in a row to reduce the score to 12-8.
But in the end, Chua’s eight-goal error sealed his fate and Krause, who had earlier eliminated American Skylar Woodward, was crowned European champion before celebrating on the stand.
