As the summer progressed and the recruiting trail went through twists and turns, four-star offensive lineman Josh Petty finally made his decision.
Petty, the No. 11 offensive guard in the Rivals250 class of 2025, committed to Georgia Tech on Monday ahead of his senior season at Roswell (Ga.) Fellowship Christian School in Georgia.

“The education is world-class,” Petty told opponent He decided to attend Georgia Tech. “After playing football, getting a degree from that school will elevate your life.”
“The improvement we’ve made, especially on the offensive line, is really exciting,” he continued. “The staff around the offensive line is great and their development and emphasis on development is great to see.”
Key was integral in elevating Georgia Tech to a Rivals250 offensive lineman ranking.
Throughout the process, an emphasis on development is crucial.
“Coach Key is a big part of it,” Petty asserts. “He’s bringing back his tree. He’s bringing back the old Georgia Tech and doing it with the people of Georgia. It’s great to see that.
“Coach Key has a proven track record of doing this and taking the guys in his room to the next level,” he continued. “You saw what he did at Alabama. It’s going to transfer to Georgia Tech. His philosophy is similar and he’s very picky in the way he does things and it’s great to see me.
Key’s vision will be realized in a 2025 class headlined by Petty, the highest-rated blue chip prospect in the group and the fifth prospect to be rated four stars or higher.
Petty, along with DE Andre Fuller Jr., OL Justin Hasenhuetl, ATH Dalen Penson and WR Samuel Turner are all from the Peach State.
“The emphasis on this new class and offensive line is special,” Petty added. “You can see the results in their offense.”
