Kamala Harris not only addressed an estimated 60,000 voters last week but also recruited thousands of new swing-state volunteers.
Via: Harris Presidential Campaign:
Vice President Kamala Harris and Gov. Tim Walz rallied more than 66,000 passionate supporters across blue wall states and the Southwest and quickly turned that enthusiasm into action , thousands of volunteers signed up.
As NBC News reported this morning, more than 5,000 volunteers signed up to attend the rally in Las Vegas to help defeat Trump, with many volunteers knocking on doors and making phone calls in the days after the rally, and ” The Arizona Republic reported that 3,000 volunteers signed up to attend the rally in Phoenix. Meanwhile, in Wisconsin, the campaign held 13,000 conversations with voters over the weekend and more than 1,100 volunteers signed up for rallies in Michigan last week.
The Biden-Harris campaign has already invested heavily in the ground game in swing states, but enthusiasm for Vice President Harris has allowed the campaign to add more people and voter contacts in battleground states.
These volunteers engage with voters, and this contact is one of the most effective forms of engagement in helping people vote.
By contrast, Donald Trump has recently been warned by allies that he has no base in battleground states. Lacking a ground game, Trump has to hope his supporters show up and vote. The former president does not have a dedicated team in battleground states to reach out on his behalf and ensure his supporters vote.
The ground game is an element of the campaign that is prepared months in advance. This is not something that can be thrown into a campaign at the last minute. While Harris was connecting with thousands of voters, Trump was talking to Elon Musk and playing golf.
An army is coming to defeat Donald Trump, and he is unprepared to respond.
