Michael Frey and Paul Smyth guided QPR to a 2-1 win at Cambridge.
Cardiff City 2-0 Bristol Rovers
Goals from Mark McGuinness and Ruben Colwell helped Cardiff beat Bristol Rovers 2-0 to advance to the second round.
Fleetwood 2-1 West Brom
Fleetwood shocked the night with a 2-1 win over champions West Brom.
The Lantern Bags took an early lead through Modou Faal, but goals from Ryan Graydon and Ronan Coughlan saw League Two complete a stunning run reverse.
Norwich 4-3 Stevenage
