Wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk participated in the San Francisco 49ers’ practice on Wednesday but did not work out with the team, according to multiple media reports.
Aiyuk, 26, continued to insist on attending 49ers training camp but did not participate. Under the terms of the collective bargaining agreement, players who fail to report could be fined up to $50,000 per day.
According to multiple reports, Aiyuk holds contracts with the 49ers and Pittsburgh Steelers. He has not yet accepted an offer from the 49ers, who plan to pay him a $14.124 million fifth-year team option on his rookie contract in 2024.
If the 49ers decide to trade Aiyuk, the Steelers will reportedly be given a window to discuss a long-term contract with Aiyuk and come to terms with 49ers general manager John Lynch.
The New England Patriots and Steelers pursued Aiyuk when contract negotiations with the 49ers hit an impasse. NFL Network and ESPN reported that Aiyuk turned down a trade from New England.
Aiyuk, the No. 25 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft out of Arizona State, led the 49ers with 75 catches and 1,342 yards and seven touchdowns in 16 games started in 2023. Array.

After trading Deontae Johnson to the Carolina Panthers in March, the Steelers were in need of a quality starting receiver opposite George Pickens.
